  2. So cute! Our onions come in bags similar to this. I bet my daughter could make some of these, with my brother's help (he does crochet, I'm more of a knitter.. of sorts).

And thanks for stopping by my site. Eventually there will be so many instructions for making your own bags from repurposed materials that no one will be use plastic at the stores.

  3. Going to have to repost this on Facebook since you actually have the instructions up. If you were at WFA's Facebook you would have seen how many people loved this idea. Thanks for adding the tute :)

  6. I did the same thing using the net bag from a turkey. I'll have to try it with the onion bag also. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Just wanted to let you know that your blog inspired me to crochet some produce bags and start making laundry soap. Thank you. So much. Seriously.

  10. I just wanted to thank you so much for sharing this idea with us. My granddaughter is going on her first Girl Scout camping trip this weekend, and she asked me to make her a 'dunk bag'. I used your idea and added a few extra rows of double crochet-ch 1 at the top to make it tall enough for her plate, bowl and cup. It works perfectly! Again, many, many thanks for saving me!

  11. This is such a cool idea. But won't the netting rip whenever you pull it closed?

  12. Well the bags are really strong. Especially orange bags, as they usually hold 3-5 lbs. of oranges. I have never had one rip. I also wouldn't swing it around when it is full of produce either ;)
